FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW MUCH IS SHIPPING?

Unfinished Furniture Expo offers free shipping for all orders over $49. If your order is below that amount, we charge tiered pricing for shipping.

  1.      Tier: $1.00 - $10.00 = $4.95
  2.      Tier: $11.00 - $25:00 = $9.95
  3.      Tier: $26.00 - $48.00 = $14.95

For US states located outside of of the continental US, please contact us first for a shipping quote.

DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?

Yes, we have partnered with a third party to service our international customers.
Once you have created your shopping Cart, choose the "Outside The U.S.?" button. You will then be automatically transferred to a page where you will be provided with international shipping costs as well as duties and taxes for your shipment.
Upon completion of your order, your credit card will be charged for the entire purchase. We will ship the goods to the third party distribution facility where they will process the order and transport the goods to your international address. There are no additional fees or registration processes with this service.

WHY BUY UNFINISHED FURNITURE?

Primarily because the good folks at Unfinished Furniture Expo need to eat. Additionally, we offer higher quality wood furniture than what is typically found in finished item stores (assuming you can still find a brick & mortar store). Factory finishes often conceal defects or blemishes in the wood. At Unfinished Furniture Expo, we understand the difference and are selective about what we sell. Quality wood furniture purchased today can be used and enjoyed for a lifetime.
Another good reason is the consumer can pick any color to match your decor. Finished furniture items from manufacturers can change colors over time, or even from lot to lot. This can make it difficult to match colors when adding new furniture items to your house. At Unfinished Furniture Expo, choosing a matching piece is easy. We carry easy to apply wood stains and clear finishes sold in numerous different wood tones and colors. We also have a full palette of chalk and milk paints. We're ready when you're ready to add a new item to your home. It will look just like the previous pieces you've purchased.
At Unfinished Furniture Expo, you have the largest selection to choose from. Buying from finished furniture manufacturers limits you to the styles they offer. When you buy unfinished furniture, you can mix and match different pieces from different manufacturers. Then stain them the same color assuring that they will all match!

DOES YOUR FURNITURE NEED ASSEMBLY?

In most cases, yes, the items need simple assembly. Some stools, stools, benches, etc do come assembled and will be noted in the descriptions. Instructions and all hardware, etc. will be included in the box. The customer will need to supply simple hand tools and wood glue (recommended).

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR ME TO GET MY MERCHANDISE?

Most of our items are kept in stock at our warehouse and we almost always ship out same day. Generally it will take 3-5 business days to reach you via FedEx Ground from our warehouse in southwestern Colorado. You will receive a tracking number by email and you can track your merchandise at www.Fedex.com. Lighter weight items may be shipped USPS. If the item is not in stock, it may take 2-6 weeks to ship. WHAT IS PARAWOOD?

Despite common misconceptions, Parawood is not two pieces of wood. However, Parawood serves our world in more than one way beyond its wood. It's a great example of how we can fully utilize a natural resource. Parawood is the tree from which latex is harvested. For twenty-five to thirty years, the Parawood tree is "tapped" (the same manner syrup is obtained from a Maple tree). Beyond this age, The Parawood tree ceases to produce sufficient quantities of latex and is cut for the manufacturing of fine furniture. For every tree cut, a new tree is planted as a replacement, harmoniously maintaining a natural balance.
Now, more than ever, being environmentally conscious and responsible is a part of our lives, business culture, and ethos. Manufacturing processes, waste management, the use of natural resource all affect our world and quality of life.
Unfinished Furniture Expo recognizes that though home furnishings are a necessity, they too can have a positive or negative impact on our environment. For this reason, as well as the physical beauty and quality of Parawood, many of our furniture is proudly crafted from this extremely dense, plantation grown hardwood.

IS THERE PARTICLE BOARD IN ANY OF YOUR PRODUCTS?


NO! Our products consist of solid wood and in some cases, pine or birch plywood in certain bookcases, home office and entertainment pieces. These are used for stability reasons. There is absolutely no particle board in our furniture. Some larger furniture items may contain plywood for added strength (industry standard). NO PARTICLE BOARD is used in any items. IS USING OUR CREDIT CARD ON YOUR SITE SAFE?

More than likely (unless we get cross-ways with the Axis of Evil, then all bets are off). We do not store any of your credit card information (that is all handled by our payment processor Shopify, the best in the biz) and we will never share your personal info with anyone else.

I AM AN ADULT AND YET SOMEHOW I MANGLED MY ADDRESS.

DUDE, WHERE'S MY ORDER?

First, check your email for our shipment confirmation for tracking info. If for some reason, that does not work, send us an email, tell us what you ordered and your order number and we will gladly assist you.

MY ORDER ARRIVED DAMAGED, OR INCOMPLETE.

First, we ask you to take a deep breath. Now contemplate the transitory nature of our existence. Finally, visualize everything and everyone you hold dear and everything you value, and release it to the universe.
Now, send us an email with your order number and what you ordered and we will gladly help you out.
If any part is found to be defective, or damaged, it will be replaced at no charge. In rare occasions when the entire unit is damage it may be replaced, but we first make these situations right with new replacement parts.
If you are unhappy with the quality of any part, it will be replaced/exchanged at no charge.
Remember, the replacement part will ship unfinished unless you ordered a finished piece.
The replacement process can take a couple of weeks, so please be patient.
The above does not apply to furniture that is not inspected within 24 hours of delivery. Any damage not reported within 24 hours will not be our responsibility.
If a customer chooses to not accept a replacement, any credit will be handled as per our return policy above.
